Summer time fun

Ok, I realize once again that I am really bad at keeping the blog up (for the real low down add me on Facebook) But it's time for the update as to how we have been. This summer has been fantastic as my Mom came out to stay with us. It has been so wonderful having her spend the last two months with us. She has helped out with the kids but headed back to Utah on Aug. 12th. We already miss her an are waiting for her to come back :) Hopefully she was able to take her mind off some of the things that have been preoccupying her mind the last few months.

Bobby played for the Yankee's this year in baseball. He had a great season and they went 15-1 winning the championship. I've been very proud at how much he has improved.

Myiah finished her first year of kid pitch softball. I'll be honest....not the easiest year for her as they went winless. But she really improved her fielding and made some great plays out in the field (I'm hoping next year she will take a swing at a pitch)

Kurstyn was just being herself as the park cheerleader. Playing with her friends at the park and getting into trouble like she normally does. She is now a Trojan Cheerleader for football and 3 years of watching her sister cheer has helped her get a head start in learning the cheers

Bobby is playing Tight End and Right Defensive End in football. He caught a pass for a touchdown on Sat.!!! It was so awesome!! He really is starting to excell in football and is a headhunter on defense. Myiah and Kurstyn cheer for his team and they will be competing in Oct. in the cheer competition

Myiah started 5th grade on the 5th of Aug. She is really enjoying her teacher and having fun in school (complete opposite of her dad) This is her last year in elementary. Bobby and Kurstyn started school last Thursday. Bobby is in 2nd grade and Kurstyn is in Kindergarten. Both are attending St. Joseph School. I'm already scouting the 8th graders at the school in preparation for basketball starting in November.

Tracey is having a great time running the cheerleading program for our community. She is very exceited as they begin to practice for the cheer competition coming up.

I'll post some pic's as soon as I find the camera.

May 09

Well, they say April showers bring May flowers but what happens when April showers go into May?? We have been having so much rain. I am ready to build an ark. When the sun actually comes out Bobby has been doing very well in baseball (9-0 first half champs!!) and Myiah is improving in softball (we won't discuss their record) Today is the first day of football sign ups so summer is very close!! Myiah and Bobby will be getting out of school on Tuesday for the rest of summer!! And Kurstyn will follow the next day. Hard to believe this school year is over. Bobby has improved in all of his subjects and Myiah (as usual) is doing extremely well with her studies. Next year will be her last year in elementary then she moves into T.W. Hunter Middle School. I can't believe she is getting that big!!

Kurstyn will be a big Kindergartener next year. Hopefully she will be at St. Joseph. She has learned so many things this year including how to write her name and how to color inside the lines. She has learned about animals, colors and numbers. Kurstyn also just had her 5th birthday!!! It was nice to have all of her friends there to be with her to celebrate.

Bobby will be going into 2nd grade. I can't believe how quickly he is growing up. And he is just as competitive as ever (must get that from his mothers side) He also just finished doing the school play. Even though singing, dancing and acting are not his favorite things to do in public...He did very well

Feb 09

Ok....so I'm a little bad at keeping up the blog. So after some gentle persuasion I am finally doing an update. Bobby is playing basketball and is having a blast. He is a rebounding king and a pretty decent ball handler. He just started baseball practice last week (baseball in Feb???) and he still has the hitters touch.

Myiah just signed up for softball and is awaiting the draft. She is the VP of her 4H club and is enjoying herself in school.

Kursi is still rulling the house and is the designated cheerleader at Bobby and my boy's basketball games. She has been doing very well in school and can now write her name all by herself (poor girl has one of the longest names to spell..Kurstyn)

My Bulldog boys basketball team just one the regular season title at 10-0!!! and we are off to State which starts on Tuesday. It has been so much fun working with these boys and being with their parents. What a great group of people.

On Feb. 7th was the Daddy Daughter Dance. This really is my favorite event of the whole year!!! It is so much fun and I got to have 2 dates this year!! What a fun time I had with Myiah and Kursi. Here are some pictures from recent events.

Thanksgiving is soon!!!

We are getting closer to Thanksgiving!!! Kursi has been learning all about Thanksgiving in her class. On Thursday she had her Thanksgiving lunch and got to be an indian!! She is also featured in a school picture book which will be auctioned off this weekend.

Bobby was in a play on Thursday. The 1st grade classes have been studying about indians and Bobby's class were the Inuit's!! He did a great job in his assembly (I'll post pics when I upload them)

Fall time is here and it has been unseasonably cold with temps only reaching in the 40's. I really hate the cold, especially the "wet" cold. But we still have our 10-0 Titans to cheer for!!!

Best wishes to all of you this week and I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving Holiday!!!

Halloween (late)

Hey All,

Happy belated Halloween!! I hope everybody had a great time. We took the kids over to the park for the festival. They are saying there were about 3500 kids that were there!! it was a lot of fun and we got plenty of candy. Afterwards we went trick or treating to some homes around the area and had a great time.

When we were finished we had friends over for our annual Halloween Chili dinner. Tracey did a wonderful job as usual.

As fall is coming around it is getting so cold!! I have not become accustomed to the humid cold. It just chills the bones. Maybe in about 10 years I'll get used to it. All the leaves have turned colors and most have now fallen off so the kids will be busy raking up big piles of leaves.
Good by for now!!

What a weekend!!!

This was the weekend of the Big Bobby Express!!! Bobby rushed for 2 touchdowns during a big win for his team. They don't keep totals of how many yards he rushed for and parents don't keep track (144 yrds on 10 carries) but I'm sure it was a lot of yards. Way to go Bobby!! That was the final game of the year. It was a bit sad for me to say bye to the little ones. I've had a great time coaching them and I hope they all had a great time playing this year.

Myiah did a great job cheerleading this year. She is now getting ready for the Christmas parade where she and her fellow cheerleaders will be riding a float!!

She had a great coach and made some wonderful friends. Now she will be getting ready for dance during the winter. Bobby will be starting basketball in a few weeks. This will be the first time I won't be coaching one of his teams. I was just brought on as the head basketball coach for St. Joseph's Middle School varsity team. I am real excited (and very nervous) about this opportunity. I can't wait for tryouts to be over with and get the season going.

Kurstyn has been having a great time going to the park for the games. She has become somewhat a Jr. Cheerleader and will be all ready for next year when she can begin cheering with the girls. She will be joining Myiah this year in dance so get ready for the dynamic duo, coming soon!!!

Here are some pic's from the football season. Until later...Remember to find ways to give meaningful service to others.

This week

Howdy peeps. Just updating everybody on this weeks activities. Bobby will be playing his last football game of the season on Sat. Myiah will be cheering hard from the sidelines as we strive to finish the season on a great note. I've been the football coach and have had a wonderful time with all the boys. I really enjoy working with the youth and watching them grow.

Myiah was just elected Vice President of her 4H club!!! I am so proud of her for this accomplishment. She was nominated by another person and they voted her in. Great job Myiah!!

I went in today and interviewed for the head coaching job at St. Josephs School and got the job!!! I'm very excited to be working with the boys. This is a middle school team (7th-8th grade) so I expect a few more grey hairs to pop up on my head.

Tracey has been working hard as always but she is doing an outstanding job at her work. She is working for AT&T and is consistently ranked in the top 10 for the South East region for her job.

Kurstyn has been learning lots in school. She has been learning about farm animals this week and was part of a puppet show last week with little stick puppets. Lately she has been going around the house singing "May the Lord Bless You" to a happy birthday tune. She is really an amazing and bright little princess.

Well, thats enough for now. Please find ways to give meaningful service to others :)
